Application Analysis of Green Type 2 J1939 Cable in Automotive Fault Diagnosis
1. Interface connection and protocol support
Physical interface matching: The green Type 2 J1939 cable uses standard J1939 Type 2 (green 9-pin) to directly connect with the vehicle diagnostic interface, compatible with dedicated communication ports for heavy trucks, construction machinery, and other equipment (such as Cummins engine ECU interface).
Protocol support: Supports SAE J1939 protocol and extended diagnostic protocol, and can transmit diagnostic parameter set (PGN) data such as DM1 (current fault code) and DM2 (historical fault code).
2. Core functions of fault diagnosis
Real time reading of fault codes: By connecting diagnostic tools, the cable can parse the DM1 message on the J1939 bus in real time, extract key information such as SPN (suspicious parameter number) and FMI (fault mode indicator), and quickly locate the fault source of modules such as the engine and transmission.
DTC analysis and processing: In conjunction with DBC files (database files), the raw CAN frames transmitted via cables can be decoded into specific fault descriptions, and support fault code clearing and historical data export.
3. Multi device collaboration and data expansion
Parallel diagnosis and monitoring: using a Y-shaped splitter to extend the cable, which can simultaneously connect to the diagnostic instrument and remote monitoring terminal, to achieve synchronous collection of fault diagnosis and vehicle operating status.
Fleet level application: In logistics scenarios, cables distribute J1939 bus signals to cloud management platforms, supporting the generation of fleet health reports.
